It’s been long over due, but at last I can post another news item here about our next exhibition.
If you had thought we must have evaporated here in the desert sun, you would be forgiven. It has been quite a while since the last exhibition (yes ok - the first exhibition) closed. After that, a heap of various things happened but none of them eventuated into an actual exhibition happening.
That all changed the day Cynthia Ellis wondered through our doors and mentioned “post pack?” I said post what?
Then I saw her work and I exclaimed “Post Pak!” ooops I mean “post pack!” (careful! no capitals & not the spelling you may think) From that day on it’s been an interesting journey to this day, and I know Cynthia would consider that journey as an important part of the art.
You’ve no doubt seen the front page, so you have a glimpse of what’s install. But I can say there’s more to it than just thick paint. As Cynthia puts it herself, showing her work art in the Feather Gallery adds something new to the art showing/buying/receiving process for you and her. So the fact that you will receive the painting in a ‘post pack’ is an important part of the process… the expectation, anticipation, and finally the receivation (the excitement of receiving something in the post) that you feel is part of the experience she wants for you.
So, look forward to investigating the exhibition further the way you might look forward to that parcel in the post - and we look forward to having you at the gallery in the same way.
post pack is opening on the 1st of August 2007 and running for 4 weeks.
