4 Days into construction and everything is going to plan.
As you can see, work has started on the wall. Everything else will sort of hang off the it, so it’s crucial to get the wall built right. I’m told it should only take another few days to complete it.

Yesterday the builders made the first marks on this salt-pan. The ground here is quite solid, so they didn’t have to go very deep.
It’s so exciting. Every morning I get out here very early to see how its going. I always end up fussing around, cleaning things up and sweep everywhere. It’s only a hole in the ground, but already I reckon it looks great!

Well I’m proud to announce we have at last found a suitable location for our gallery. Here’s a snap I took this morning not long after sunrise.
At first we thought the agent was kidding, but sure enough this site is the middle of a dried up salt lake! Who would have thought. Apparently there hasn’t been any water there for the last couple hundred years. That was my first concern… the last thing you want on opening night is a flood through the middle of your gallery.
The idea was to find a place where the environment was stark, hopefully to really bring out the colour and life in the art. Time will tell if this was is a good idea.
Now at last we can get on with the actual construction. Yipee!!
